[Every time he wrote her a text, Jacuzzi panicked and deleted it. So really it took him a few days before he balled up and just used his voice. It's small and squeaky, with terrible nerves.]

And thinking about what he's gonna say to her because he has no idea. So, you know, in typical Jacuzzi fashion, it just all stays bottled up or comes rushing out.]

I'm sorry about the way I've been actin' you seem really nice and I just don't want you to get hurt because I've seen what happened to the other you when she was a kid and I didn't want it to happen to you--[Pause for breath]--But I've been actin' like I know better than you--[And this is where he starts to tear up because he was being terrible and Nice has every right to be upset with him.]--and I don't. And if you wanna risk something it's more important how you feel about it than me.

I'm so sorry, Nice. I've been really selfish. I wanted to get to know you and everythin' but--I got scared and--and I acted like a jerk.

[There's a quiet laugh on her end, and she speaks gently when she responds.]

You do know better, though. If it was something as bad as you've told me, I probably would have done the same for you. Especially because we don't know what can set it off. So I'm not mad -- I should be thanking you for trying hard to protect me.

... Honestly? I can't even imagine it. That's not to say I think I'll never get hurt or anything, but it's not easy to imagine something like that.

I guess I can't say I'm not nervous, though.

No. I'd like it if you talked to me. I'll be happy if I had a friend to talk to through all this.
